7 Characteristics of a good leader
While a good leader can be taught and developed, I have always believed some people have natural born abilities to control nature. Some people have personal characteristics that allow them to be a leader without being taught.
But what are these characteristics? Let's look at each attribute.
1. A good leader is one who can be trusted to lead others. They have a good character and is honest with integrity. They set a positive example and earns the right to be a leader. This is particularly evident in the military where general of high rank have lead the platoon level all the way up to division level.
2. A good leader is confident about its capabilities. In order to lead a group, the leader must demonstrate that he or she is safe and able to set directions. He / she instills confidence in others who excel them in turn to do the best for the team.
3. A good leader is enthusiastic about his / her work. Leaders are often asked to be motivators and enthusiastic. Without the passion for their work, it is difficult to motivate others to do the same. A good leader who lead by example and be willing to do the dirty work.
4. A good leader has to show order in chaos. Many times, people look to leaders for guidance and instructions in times of uncertainty. They look to try to ensure the safety and the leader has to show a positive attitude and decision.
5. A good leader strives to be the best. They do not want to be the second or third best. They maintain high standards in their work and inspire others to do the same.
6. A good leader is able to think analytically keeping the end result in mind. A good leader must keep in mind the big picture, while at the same time, is divided into phases feasible for others to follow or run. He / she must also be able to assess progress.
7. A good leader must also remain calm and composed face of uncertainty. More people turn to him / her for the insurance in times of difficulty. He / she needs to be decisive and take over its decisions ....
