Marketing Plan Template
Marketing plans sit within an overall business plan - are a vehicle to help deliver your business goals and objectives. Without a clear direction and business strategy, your marketing plans will never be 100% effective. Always start with gaining clarity on the direction of your company before completing the template marketing plan and activities that will take.
If you are clear on your way global business, the first step in marketing planning is research.
Competition research
Find your direct and indirect competitors - so everyone has a competitor in business. Find them and learn from them.
Read:
Or what they are doing and where they are marketing - try to get copies of their marketing materials,
or the type of clientele they attract,
Or what you do best,
Or the things you do better than them,
or how to price their products,
Or why people choose to buy from them and not you.
If you really want to go deep, explore their website source code to see the keywords they're using and get a Google alert set up so that it can be constantly updated on what they are doing.
Customer research
Next you need to research your customers. The more you know and understand them and their needs and desires, the best location will be able to satisfy what they are looking for.
Find out who your customers are, their age and sex, where they live, how much they earn, what they value, what is important to them, what they like, as often buy products or services like yours and what to look for in a and a commercial product.
Make sure you define the perfect "A" clients - up to the behavior and personality if this is important for you. For example - my "A" clients are typically entrepreneurs, always full of great ideas and need help in focusing your ideas and take its completion. They can be a bit '"scattered" approach, enhance the knowledge and experience and appreciate the holistic solutions rather than solutions activities.
Really get into your customers mind. Check demographic research on things like the generation of Ys, Neo and gray nomads to understand what makes them tick. After all - you are in business, not only to make money, but because you want to make a difference, make people happy and solve their problems.
Product / service research
Once you know your customers and your competitors better, take time to look back to your products and services. Impartial look at each one and ask yourself what is great and not so great for each one. Because you have this service / product and what is needed is trying to fill? Why do people buy it? Why not buy it? What has the product or service to reach people?

Yes ... even more research is necessary before we can start planning. How effective is the method of current distribution? What works and what does not work? Regarding the production process? How about the sales process?
Once you have all this data, you can start planning for next year.
Many of the marketing planning tools available were written before the Internet marketing has become big ... and meet the challenges of managing an internet business. This means that you're only getting half the story. All companies must plan and modern marketing on-line and off-line.
Online marketing is much more than a website - which includes things like affiliate programs, auto-responders, blogs, e-books, shopping carts, social networking sites and a host of other things.
Print marketing is what many people think of when they think about marketing and yes, it is still important. This includes things like marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, business cards, corporate gifts and posters. It also includes direct mail and mail clients. These two areas are among the most neglected and most profitable forms of marketing that you can do. Print marketing also includes things like books and articles.
Advertising needs both online and off-line to be taken into consideration in the marketing plan. Always be sure to calculate the return on investments and monitor the outcomes and measuring the response you get. If you are not at least make back the cost of the campaign campaign every six to throw money away unnecessarily - there may be far more available than the expensive brand advertising.
PR is another area that must be addressed. What events will hold or be part of? What is your release cycle? We run seminars / teleseminars / webinars? Want to exhibit at a trade show or sponsor someone or a cause?
Then there is a broader category of marketing where you can create huge amounts of customer traffic. This includes alliances, nurture customers, upselling, contests, joint ventures, referrals and much more.
The bottom line with marketing is that you need to do a little 'every day. Work on the areas you want to address, plan your calendar, get advice on how to do it and then implement and measure results .......
