Dog behavior digging your pet - What does it mean?
As a dog owner, you know that any dog digging behavior is a common problem. And, this special behavior dog may have different causes - some quite serious. If your dog tends to dig (in All the Wrong Places!) And it must stop dogs from digging your lawn or garden, keep reading.
This Spot Special
Initially, the dogs can gravitate to that "special place", because, well, that's where the smells are. They like that. Smell is one of the most common ways that dogs relate to their world. As you know, when you take your dog out for a walk, most of the time is spent sniffing a bush or a cartel.
The same goes for your garden, too. They may have a favorite band of flowers that only "have the scent." So, if you suspect that this is the case, one of the best ideas is to find a way to mask the odor with something that will repel the dog from that place. Check with your pet store - there are many spray repellents on the market that can be used to stop dogs from digging your new plants in your garden.
Simple Comfort
Or, your dog may groped to improve his health, because bacteria in the soil may help him feel better. Digging in the ground and then rolled in freshly plowed earth is a sign that your pet is trying to collect elements that enter into the coat and help relieve some discomfort. If you know this, then knowing how to stop dogs from digging is rather simple. Eliminate the discomfort and the digging stops. (A trip to the vet for a check-up is probably a good idea, too.)
Since dogs do not sweat (pant), if you're in a hot environment, the behavior of the dog to dig can be just the way they remain fresh. They know that the ground is cold and the ground in a freshly dug hole is quite comfortable for your dog. So, protecting your dog from the sun or with a little fresh water on hand can stop dogs from digging.
Preventing Dog Fences dig under
Your dog likes to wander? If your pet digs under the fence to explore the neighborhood, you will need to nip this in the bud. Using an electric fence can prevent the dog to dig under the fence structures giving it a gentle shake when he starts digging. After several attempts, you will get the message.
So, the dog digging behavior can indicate many things. As stated previously, a trip to the vet is probably a wise thing to do. If it comes to behavior modification and emotional problems, perhaps obedience training or training programs you can do at home can work quite well for you two! Find out why your dog digs and you will both be very happy .......
