How to Blog - RSS in Plain English
What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. The first time I read that has turned heads, but do not worry this is a normal reaction. In short, RSS is a way to get your messages delivered through the Internet.
Here is another way of looking at things:
Let's pretend that your blog is a journal. Every day you create a new problem, and want as many people as possible to read the latest edition. What is the best way to do this?
Do you want to insist on all down to your office to read the newspaper?
It could, and some people would make the daily journey. Some people will probably stay a couple of times a week, and others would fluctuate less often. Some people would come at once, and never return. However, there would be a lot of people how they found it extremely uncomfortable. They would like to read your paper, but do not have time to come to the office. They are limited by your hours of operation.
What a colossal waste of time!
There would be a better way to provide your subscriber card at home?
You may print copies of your newspaper and have it delivered every day. This enormous reach advantage. Mainly convenience for anyone who wants to read your newspaper. Since the paper is delivered at home are more likely to read at leisure. They are not limited by your opening hours.
Furthermore, the paper a greater number of readers. Each player has the edition at home instead of hiking down to your office every day. That makes it very convenient for everyone, and probably increase circulation.
RSS works the same for your blog
Instead of forcing people to your blog to see the last post. They can use RSS to bring mail to them in a central location. This greatly increases the chances of your posts never fail again .......
