I have already decided to invest. But why diversify?

With sadness but with just foundation I use trite phrase on "Do not put all your eggs in one basket." Diversify your investment means that the risk of having a disability or loss is reduced, precisely because all your capital is affected by the same external factors.

To give an example. If your money is in Mexican pesos, economic crisis will end any possibility of gain. But if you have a percentage in other currencies, including this money can get benefited from this crisis.

Stock markets are always connected, either proportionally or inversely, gold has to rise when stocks fall, the sugar cane market price increases as oil rises.

Finally, one should seek to diversify and diversify what diversified:

Diversified by region, by currency, by institution, by market (debt, RV, etc..), For a term and all means by which you divide your capital with the aim of which not only have all your eggs in one basket but you have every egg as far as possible.

Asesorate with an expert. Protect your investment and avoid diversifying get your hands on a great omelet.
