Special Needs Tourists

Currently there are different segments of tourists that must be addressed in accordance with very specific needs and demands. Examples are birders in a country with a great diversity of species, the lovers of adventure sports, especially the trek and climbing in a country that holds the highest tropical mountain world and the most spectacular places to walk your path as star: THE CLASSIC INCA TRAIL, and lovers of good food and drink that are in Peru, a country with an amazing diversity gastronomy.

Will a few years when we were referring to tourists, the term was general and tour operators develop strategies without distinction to a wide range of tourists who had different needs and demands therefore, different types of services.

Nowadays with all the changes that have taken root in communities and the process of globalization, tourists have more informed and therefore more demanding.

Many years ago when even the names of Palakala, Azpitia, LACHAY LOMAS DE ISLANDS OF ANCON YAUYOS and others were still unknown to the Peruvians themselves, Ecoadventure living gambling in those places as well as so-called "culinary tours", which today is more often offered as.

Other groups like Tarpuy, Clean Air Freundeskreis, Cordillera, Peru bike and a few others that began in the late 80's also helped to pioneer routes trek, efforts now are crystallized with a steady growth of tourists who go Huaraz, Cusco and Arequipa - trekeros our main destinations.

Other segments that show rapid growth is oriented to gay and lesbian travelers, whose numbers are not yet quantified but there is reference for assessing this progress. It is worth noting for example that the city of Buenos Aires is considered the capital "more friendly" to these people and this segment is providing a stimulus to the tourist arrivals.

In the last two years Lima has become a new center in South America for music lovers, with the arrival of soloists and ensembles of world renown. Today this allows music lovers come from different neighbors.

However, a segment that has not grown significantly is the one linked to the events and trade fairs, which in different parts of Europe, for example, have helped increase the flow of tourists. Events like Mistura, the Book Fair or the International Mining Fair should become the drivers of this segment.

The agenda is broad and requires that Peru provide social stability and security and the private sector to continue investing in infrastructure that will enable more and better means of communication, hotels and all I can offer more comfort to tourists.

From this place of the magical mist.
