The pool water treatment plants, along with maintaining water chemistry, are a key element to ensure good water quality of the pool from the point of view of safety and hygiene. The pool water treatment plants basically consist of two components, the pump and filter, and its main function to filter the water retaining suspended matter, although some models perform additional functions such as automatic dosing of chemicals or water softening.

Water quality in the pool

When filling the pool at the beginning of the season the water is crystal clear, but quickly becomes polluted and turbid by exposure to sun and dust, dirt, leaves and microorganisms that enter the air, rain and bathers. To combat this problem using two systems:

Periodically the filter must be cleaned by backwashing, reversing the direction of flow of water, and expelling the dirt down the drain, because otherwise the dirt will clog the sand blocking the flow of water.
